While working my way through all the functions and features of Gridzilla, I stumbled across the June VHF Replay. You can find it in the bottom-right corner of the Home page.
Select “launch replay,” and you’ll be able to select a call sign. Press play. It will then show you every QSO worked across a map, playing out over time during the contest. Check out the other replay speed options, the color code for the band, and the number of QSOs in each grid.
Francis, KV5W, the creator of Gridzilla, tells me he used the public logs for the data. Note that this version is for the 2025 edition of the ARRL June VHF Contest.
I found it quite fascinating to look at some of the large stations and how their QSOs played out, particularly those in the Northeast with many stations nearby.
I’ve made a video of my station results from the 2025 contest. Note that I was running 10 watts and won the Single Operator Portable category that year.
If you haven’t joined Gridzilla yet, I highly recommend it. It’s a valuable resource for VHF operators, especially those pursuing the Fred Fish Memorial Award (FFMA). It also helps Rovers plan their routes and activate rare grids.
