Rover Route for ARRL September VHF 2020 — 11 Grids in 33 Hours

It’s time for the ARRL September VHF 2020 Contest. This time I’ll be running my usual Limited Rover setup with 50, 144, 222, and 432 MHz bands with the roof top rotator Yagi installation.

I have made a few updates in preparation for this contest. They include:

  • Added an N8XJK Power Booster — this should result in higher power on 144 and 432 via IC-910H.
  • Repaired TE Systems Amp for 6 meters — should be 150 watts — TE Systems repaired and updated the output LC network at no charge.
  • Repaired DEMI 222 transverter — blew the input load resistor — Q5 provided the replacement resistor at no charge.
  • Added ARR Preamp for 222 MHz — picked up pristine used SP220VDG from W9KXI.

I will be following my usual route, returning home late night Saturday before heading out again early Sunday. Hopefully, I can get some Meteor Scatter contacts in on Sunday morning from EM24 and EM14. Here’s the route with rough estimates for on-the-air times – Central Daylight Time (CDT):

  • Saturday —
    • EM03xe on the air at 1 PM
    • EM13ae around 2 PM
    • EM02xt at 4 PM
    • EM01wv at 7 PM
    • EM11dv at 9 PM
  • Sunday —
    • EM24ea at 7 AM
    • EM14xa at 9 AM
    • EM23aa at Noon
    • EM22bg at 3 PM
    • EM21ax at 5 PM
    • EM12va at 7 PM

Hope to see you on the air and get you into the log. Good luck.
