My career has been spent doing a great deal of counting. It’s been all about measuring progress toward meeting goals. In fact, one of my publishing teams developed a skit about Jimmie-Locks and the five bears. See the character they developed nearby — that’s me with the ruler in my hand representative of my constantly measuring key performance metrics. I’m sure they loved it, right?
In the current phase of my freelance writing career, I have from time to time posted a few updates on my progress, complete with numbers. Well, I got out the measuring stick this weekend to determine just how many blogs I’ve written for clients.
The client blog count currently stands at 604.
That’s starting in 2014 with a hiatus in 2019 and continuing to this day.
It represents work for 22 different clients. By far the biggest client has been a foundation repair company where I’ve written 183 blogs. All those happened this year. Next inline are a remodeling company with 67 posts, a nonprofit fundraising company with 62 posts, an optometrist with 61 posts, and a radio manufacturer with 50 posts.
Then there’s the blogging I do for fun. My K5ND amateur radio site now has 455 posts, which would bring my overall total to over 1,000 blog posts.
There are a few days when writing can be a bit of a grind. But not very many.
I love what I do as a freelance writer. I hope you’ve found what you love.
