I’m headed out once more as a Limited Rover in the ARRL June VHF Contest. I’ll be running the four lower bands (50, 144, 222, 432 MHz) and close to the full power limits of 200 watts on 50/144 and 100 watts on 222/432. I’ll use my roof top antenna rotator setup.
Rover Route
My route will be the 11 grids that I’ve run in the past but with a few tweaks for improved locations and timing. I’m also planning on staying at a motel on Saturday evening instead of returning home as I did during the pandemic lockdowns. This will help with an earlier start on Sunday in the Oklahoma grids I’ll be activating.
Saturday — June 12
- EM11dv on the air at 1:00 PM Central Time
- EM01wv at 3:00 PM
- EM02xa at 5:00 PM
- EM03xe at 8:00 PM
- EM13ae at 9:30 PM
Sunday — June 13
- EM14xa at 6:00 AM
- EM24ea at 7:30 AM
- EM23fw at 10:00 AM
- EM22bq at 12:30 PM, new location for me
- EM21ax at 4:00 PM
- EM12va at 6:00 PM, new location for this contest
That’s the planned route. Hope to work you in every grid on every band!
I see we might possibly cross paths this year again. Good luck, Jim!
