The past week I’ve been working to compile the report for the 2013 Jamboree on the Air. That involved summarizing all the numbers, stories, photos, and suggestions from the 271 station reports that were submitted after the event. While 419 stations registered for the event, getting 65% to file their reports was a reasonably good result. Next year we are shooting for 80%.
Overall, the number of stations filing reports increased by 33%. However, the reported number of Scouts on the air declined by 25% to just under 14,000. With note all stations reporting, we’re hoping that several thousand more were actually on the air. We received some wonderful photos and great stories of making a difference in the lives of Scouts by introducing them to the fun, technology, and magic of amateur radio. It was also lots of fun to see them talking to other Scouts across the country and around the world.
You can find the 2013 JOTA Report here and the video here. Enjoy.
