I caught wind of the Russian Radio RTTY Contest when I attended the DFW Contest Group meeting earlier this week. So I set up for a casual operation.
It is a 24-hour contest and I put in right at 4 hours, generating 65 QSOs, 30 DXCC multipliers, and only one Russian Oblast. Did manage to work 80 through 15 meters. Didn’t hear a peep on 10 meters. Ran 100 watts into my usual verticals.
This was good practice for the CQ WW RTTY contest that is coming up at the end of the month. I’ll get the 15 meter Moxon beam out for that one.
